The SD200-001 consists of a high sensitivity passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor and microprocessor with intelligent logic control software in an aesthetically pleasing housing. It should be mounted on the wall or ceiling (corner mount recommended) to detect human presence by sensing the movement of body heat energy. In addition to this, it also provides various operation settings and component connections of the system. 

To avoid the room becoming too hot or too cold during an unoccupied period (which would require excessive time and energy to cool down or warm up), the SD200-001 features high and low temperature limiting. The HVAC unit is activated if the room exceeds the set range.

The SD200-001 is part of the SK200-001 Energy Management System. It is powered by the SF200-001 (providing 24VDC power) or by previously wired 24V power.

It can accept input signals from optional slave sensors: SB200-001, SA200-001, SE200-001 (Door Switch), and SE200-002 (Window Switch).
